Internships for the thesis

Thesis Internship - What is it?

It is an activity aimed at writing the thesis.

It offers students the opportunity to engage in research or practical activities at either external or internal university facilities.

The study plan of the Master’s Degree in Agrifood Sustainability includes 12 ECTS that MUST be covered via a Thesis Internship.

The thesis internship is MANDATORY for graduation.

                                                           Thesis Internship - Where?

Internally to UniPV:

● in a laboratory of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences
● in a laboratory of another UniPV Department

Partially internally and partially externally / partially in Italy and partially abroad:

●depending on the topic of your thesis and your thesis supervisor inputs, you might end up doing your thesis internship partially in a lab and partially in another one

Externally to UniPV, either in Italy or abroad:

●in a laboratory of an external institution (another University, Research center, private company, farm…) - Students are encouraged to seek for a company if they wish to!

IMPORTANT:

  • An internal thesis supervisor (UNIPV prof) is always required!
  • Discuss and agree on your thesis topic ideas with your thesis supervisor beforehand!

Thesis internship options and related procedures can be found in the sections below (click on the title of the section to open the section and read the related procedures)

1. Identify your thesis supervisor (UniPV prof) based on the matching of your interests/their research topic & availabilities

2. Before starting the internship for the thesis:

● fill in the ‘starting form’ (find it here) - it must be signed by your thesis supervisor too!
● at least 15 days before starting to attend the internal lab, send the ‘starting form’ to both:

3. At the end of the thesis internship:

● fill in the ‘ending form’ (find it at the bottom of this page) - it must be signed by your thesis supervisor too!
● send the ‘ending form’ to Segreteria Didattica didattica@dsta.unipv.it - at least 10 days before the closure of the booklet (graduation deadlines here)

Important: If you agree with your thesis supervisor to do part of the internship in a structure external to UniPV, please communicate this via Filo Diretto at least 15 days in advance so the relevant office can activate the required insurance coverage.
