Managing department
In the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences we study the movements of the earth's crust, the composition of soil and minerals as well as how to find and manage resources and to limit the risks to which we are exposed.
We also study what lives on land and in water: plants, animals and microorganisms. We investigate their evolution and to what they are threatened by.
Our research takes place in a wide variety of environments: from the depths of the ocean to the mountain tops, and regards various natural processes, from seeds germination to the formation of a diamond.
All this is at the service of society: in fact, we use our energies and skills to provide consultancy, technical services, assistance in the training of professionals and in the development of society through educational and cultural proposals suitable for diverse audience.
We collaborate with Universities and Research Bodies from all over the world, but also with Natural Parks, foundations, scientific bodies, small and large companies, without forgetting our territory and local realities.
